Here's a few rare singles that are actually great for rock 'n' roll dancing. They are departures from classic rock 'n' roll, but those tunes are limited in number and many dancers like variety. Add these to your playlist and only the tired dancers will be sitting down.

Mississippi - John Phillips

The track has an excellent medium fast rock beat. Recorded in 1970 after The Mamas and The Papas had split, it was a minor hit quite popular in Australia.

Holiday Road - Lindsey Buckingham

I'm not trying to pull a fast one. This track is the theme song from National Lampoon's Vacation movie and it's quick. Fortunately, it's also short. It's instantly recognisable and immediately calls to mind images of Chevvy chase and Beverly D'Angelo in some of the most humorous and memorable scenes ever watched. Definitely include this in your playlist at some point.

Cinnamon - Derek

Johnny Cymbal, who first found fame with Mr Bass Man, recorded songs under various names. In this instance he used the name Derek. This was a sizeable hit rarely heard these days. When I am controlling the music it will definitely be included, because it's excellent for rock 'n' roll dancing.

Dave and Ansell Collins - Double Barrel

This worldwide hit is rarely heard nowadays, but it was very popular in 1970. Perhaps that's due to it being very different. It's a workout themed track released at the beginning of fitness media popularity. Another way of working out to this music is by way of rock 'n' roll dancing. It's very different for that also and maybe not to everyone's taste. However, the beat is very good and dancers will feel like they are "the magnificent" when they hit the dance floor and show what they can do.
