Another major dance event has been cancelled due to Coronavirus. The Victor Harbour Rock 'n' Roll Festival won't go ahead in 2020. The decision to cancel was apparently due to uncertainty around restrictions on public gatherings in South Australia. However, organisers have advised the event will take place in 2021. It has been a major feature on Australia's rock 'n' roll dance calendar for many years.

Their email explains "The amount of time, planning and 100+ volunteers involved to program, prepare and promote a festival of this scale, and the current uncertainty regarding COVID-19 restrictions on large gatherings, we had to make the decision to cancel this year's event. The Festival team are now focusing on delivering an even better event next year – 17-19 September 2021."
Victor Harbour is a seaside town 84 kilometres south of Adelaide. It's a major tourist destination featuring many local attractions, particularly its spectacular scenery. The Rock 'n' Roll Festival has been an annual feature on the events program in Spring. Multiple indoor and outdoor dance sessions are held over a weekend, beginning on the Friday night.
Hotel bookings need to be made well in advance, as hundreds of visitors descend on the town to participate. Many arrive in hot-rods and dressed in 1950s theme. Those who drop by will enjoy watching a spectacular array of rock 'n' roll dance performed by enthusiasts from around the country. Top-rated local and interstate bands will provide continual music from the rock 'n' roll era.
For interstate and international visitors, a day trip to join in the fun is highly recommended. However, traffic in and out of the region can be heavy over the weekend, so it's best to start out early.
